Round Elastic Cord.

Choose from our extensive stock range of elastic cords. Manufactured by Fabmania Ltd in the U.K, these elastics have core of natural rubber threads and a braided polyester outer surface.

The yarns used in the manufacture of these elastic cords are colourfast and comply with OEKO standards so are safe to use in toys and all hobby and craft applications

Each size of elastic is supplied in a choice of lengths: 10 metres, 30 metres and 100 metres

We dispatch orders daily, orders of 100 metres or more are sent on a next day courier service, smaller order are sent using Royal Mail 24 parcel service, which delivers around 95% of orders on the next day.

2 mm Round elastic cord

Diameter 2.0 +/- 0.2 mm

Choose from a range of around 16 colours in of quantities 10 metres and up

FM-02 is made on 16 spindle braiding machines using in the core 6 rubber threads (36 count) and 2 ends of textured 1/167 polyester yarn per spindle on the braided cover. The elongation or stretch is around 110% (so a 20 cm length will stretch to about 44 cm)

3 mm Round elastic cord

Diameter 3.0 +/- 0.3 mm

FM-03 is made on 16 spindle braiding machines using in the core 16 rubber threads (36 count) and 2 ends of textured 1/167 polyester yarn per spindle on the braided cover. The elongation or stretch is around 100% (so a 20cm length will stretch to about 40cm)

4 mm Round elastic cord

Diameter 4.0 +/- 0.4 mm

FM-04 is made on 16 spindle braiding machines using in the core 24 rubber threads (36 count) and 4 ends of textured 1/167 polyester yarn per spindle on the braided cover. The elongation or stretch is around 90% (so a 20cm length will stretch to about 38cm)

5 mm Round elastic cord

Diameter 5.0 +/- 0.5 mm

FM-04 is made on 16 spindle braiding machines using in the core 16 rubber threads (20 count) and 5 ends of textured 1/167 polyester yarn per spindle on the braided cover. The elongation or stretch is around 80% (so a 20cm length will stretch to about 36cm)

Made to order elastic cord

If you cannot find what you want from our stock elastics, we can make to order this type of elastic in other colouirs and different yarns (minimum order quantities apply).

Having a large number of braiding machines for producing elastics, along with an extensive range of stock yarns means we can put any order for any size and colour combination into production quickly. usually within a day or so.

The most popular yarn used in the manufacturing elastic cords is polyester. We carry a range of around 60 standard yarn shades. The cords can be made single colour, or can be produced in two or more colours with stripes, flecks or barbers pole patterns. The elastic can also be made using polypropylene, nylon and cotton yarns.

More technical elastic cords are also made using materials such as Kevlar and Twaron for use where fire retardant properties are required.

Orders for elastic cord can be supplied on reels as a continuous length, or we can economically heat cut to fixed lengths

Fabmania can also produce bespoke elastic cords with special requirements, such are fire retardant to Civil aviation standards for use in aircraft interiors. The cords can also be supplied with treasury tag ends and on some sizes can be made into loops.
